One of the main reasons for the formation of Indivisible Gettysburg is to "advertise" for existing organizations' activities in our local area. We think that one of the most important and impactful series of events that have been ongoing in Gettysburg have been the weekly Saturday "Rallies for the People" that have been organized by the Adams County Democratic Committee.
These rallies have been held in Lincoln Square most every Saturday between 12 noon and 1 pm starting sometime in March of 2025. These rallies brought in between 150 and 200 peaceful and joyful protesters most every single week, and an estimated 2,000 - 2,500 persons for No Kings 1 and No Kings 2. The weekly rallies have been temporarily paused for the coldest of the winter months, and are expected to restart on February 28. The Committee usually has many signs that can be used by anyone as long as they return them at the end of the rally.
These protests are peaceful, respectful, family-friendly public events. Conditions of the required local permit include keeping sidewalks clear for pedestrian traffic, keeping parking spaces and crosswalks clear. Please adhere to these rules if you come. Rally attendees have been very friendly and willing to help anyone.
Indivisible Gettysburg plans to post the weekly protests to Indivisible National's Event pages to help local citizens be informed of these events. See the events page at the following link: Upcoming Events | Get Involved & Drive Change ( https://indivisible.org/get-involved/attend-an-event/ )
